Living with Severe Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME/CFS), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), and other complex chronic illnesses, they are currently bedbound, unable to work, and depend on caregiver support for daily survival. They’ve been denied Social Security Disability benefits and have no income or family support to fall back on. Their current housing situation is unsustainable and making them sicker. They need to move to a safer, accessible space by spring 2026.
Despite everything, they continue showing up for others: coordinating care exchanges, food distribution, and peer support from bed. Their generosity and dedication have touched many lives in this community.
We’re raising $7,000 to cover application fees, deposits, moving expenses, medical supplies, and a few months of rent as they transition to safer housing in Chicago.
